FTA Status:

01/10/08--> Many reports of periodic freezing on channels. They will freeze for a moment, then come back. Providers have made changes with a Mecm. They have reverted back to an old Mecm60 from Dec 17th. This has caused the VS and Sv to experience freezing on the latest files while other manufactures actually got black screens. To fix freezing load older files released on Dec 22nd or Dec 26th. VS Coders are aware of this freezing and will make adjustments to compensate for this issue.

01/03/08--> Files for many stb's have been released. Please be patient while waiting for your model stb file release.

Units using IKS (Internet Key Sharing) such as Nfusion are running. That means it is connected to the internet and relies on an aux server to get its video authorization "keys" to the clients. It does'nt stream over the internet, but they are getting the keys from a open rom 102,103 application and then sending through IKS. You do expose yourself to giving your IP ADDY to those that want it to track you down though.

07/18/07--> From TotalFTA

As many of you know, a civil suit has been filed by Echostar against Viewtech, Inc. This suit should not worry any member of this community, nor should it worry about Viewtech or its products. Echostar is attacking the big guy on the block, that being viewtech. These type suits can take years to evolve into anything, if they even make it that far. Consider this a fishing expedition by Echostar into the halting of FTA receivers.

As information is released by viewtech, inc and or the courts we will keep you informed. Please do remember that Viewtech, Inc is in no way shape or form the owners of this forum, as so many might believe. The actions by echostar against Viewtech, Inc do not have any implications on these forums or the information shared within in.

Since Viewtech and third-party coders are SEPARATE ENTITIES, it should not affect third-party releases OR future receivers.

Although websites are mentioned, the only defendants are Viewtech and its apparent owner. Totalfta was mentioned in the legal brief as an example of the type of website referred to in that paragraph. It was NOT named as a co-defendant, which is a very key point that needs to be addressed. If Charlie's lawyers thought they had grounds to sue TotalFTA, they certainly would have done so. Othr FTA sites have even stooped to trying to use scare tactics to sway members from this site. What they do not realize is that thier site could have just as easily been used as an example.

Cardless B1 Autoroll Fixes

Most manufacturers are currently running cardless AR fixes at this time. There are a few that have to have keys manually inputted such as the Digiwave stb's and the clones of them (Kusat and others)

11/23/06--> (Blacklist) Pansat 1500A, 2300A, 2500A STATUS
As all know we had been supporting all those 3 old models for past couple years. All those units has only 1Mb flash rom space. We did our best to keep up the support as much as possible in good condition. As we know in order to make the autoroll working we need more space than before, in more details would be, DN has been adding more memory each time they changed algorithm. There is no even reason to say it might give problem to other models, because they are not even close to bother any other models we have that has 2Mb Flash ROM. We will never stop support for older Models, We are still supporting and will support to the most possible ways to get picture to end users. I may have to decide to give up some options in a menu in order to create space for the new DN Auto algorithm changes. My first Target might be to use only English Language option, or even miner feature that are not usefull almost 80% customers.

Most of you have heard of Black Sunday, but only a handful remember that it was three months of black screens before a workaround came out. If you're getting ready to chuck all of your FTA boxes and sub, please by all means do so. Don't let anyone stop you. With as many Free TVers as there are, thinning out the masses is a good thing. Charlie will play the game on a much less frequent basis if fewer people are watching for free.

To those who haven't started playing the game yet but are lurking these forums for information about whether it's worth it, then let this be a lesson. Don't cancel your cable subscription once you get your dish and FTA recieiver hooked up. It's nice to watch free porn or PPV movies, but as you can see it does go down from time to time and sometimes it takes a while before it's back up. If you have a cable, Dish, or DTV sub then you will not be looking at black screens for a few weeks while the rest are on the forum singing the No Fix blues.

Some of the larger sites will experience outages as people will flock to them in search of fixes and news. The sites will get overloaded and crash. This does not mean anything other than that they are too damn busy. This will happen from time to time. There is no need to report this on the boards everytime it happens

We do NOT need C&P posts from other sites. The reality is that we all have seen them at the other sites already because 99.99999% of us are members at dozens of sites. Lets not waist the damn bandwidth with useless crap. Anything of importance would be already posted above in this report because the info would have been verified at the source

ALSO:

-> During peak times when there is a lot of activity on the site. If you do not see a solution, then check back later. If everyone simply lurks on the site waiting for a fix, then the people that actually have them, cannot log on to post them. This happened this week. At that point you become part of the problem and not the solution.
