I have read elsewhere that V/S coders are looking at the original failures , with the intent to discern and possibly provide a repair for those! The "rumour" is that only, maybe one of the mods might comment if they have heard anything? Still won't help clone owners!!!! LOL

Hello all of you fellow testers , Mods and Admins.....i rarely have much to say...and try my darndest to be a "Model Member"...lol...but i will back you Forum Officials,Viewsat and all of the other Original FTA receiver manufacturers whole heartedly on this issue.

P.S my Viewsat Extreme is working flawlessly thank you.....other than a pesky outdated "long channel name template"...lol.

Well in a since the clone viewsats will work the same as Origonal equiptment with the factory files.LOL its the goooood stuff that the clones wont work with HaHaHa!!!
I have also made the comments for coders about the clone kill codes be implementted in the factory firmware as well i dont know if this has been done or not but i would think with the war on clones this would be nessarry to defeat them once and for all making them dead on arival this would take alot of heat off of us for sure but i am just a modd what do i know LOL
Why if china can make there own boxes cant they get there own coders to code them???????????

The percentage I mentioned might even seem too high but I am also including user error of loading the file as well just plain bad electronics that may cause OEM units to die.

I think the coders are doing a great job keeping us wathching our FREE TV.

Cyphris i know that our coders are doing an outstanding job at doing what they do.They are second to none and do a great job at keeping there suporters up and running i have tryed the rest (STB boxes)now i run with the best Viewsat the best there is period.Viewsat the leader in the free to air busness.

I sent my in for repair & viewsat wants $75us. It alredy cost me $30can to sent. I told them to keep it, I can get a new extreme for $170. What bugs me is the my legit platinium died after watching for an hour due to the new file but people running clones are still working. What the ...., really upset me.

I have not heared of any clones working with latest file. as for your platinum did you ever load it with a xtreme file by accedent as I am see alot saying that is why there unit died after 30-60mins of use.

Nope, i loaded the platinium file and was watching for over an hour before it freeze and unable to turn on. I did everything right. Loaded the file and waited for the channel to come back. Did not even remove from the TV. I have been loading this since the begining of viewsat so i know what i am doing.My suspicion is there must be a critcal time race problem between the software & the hardware causing the boot to be corrupted. Althought i have had it for so long, i still think viewsat should give me a break or just show me the How TO and i will do it myself. I am technically incline and show be able to handle it with a little help. If someone in ontario can do it in 20 minutes, then there should be a solution to it. It should not be that difficult. You think viewsat will sell me a Programmed TSOP chip?

i agree with this guy ,,,,, my friend has a clone and his unit is working i dont know how and why, (lucky SOB) anywho i know its fake one BC i compaired it with mine when i bought it and be4 i bought mine i cmpaired with with one of the techs posted pictures guess what mine is dead and i piad full price for it, and now i dont know if i should send it to viewsat for repair bc i dont know if i will get it back , yaa i made a mistake i didnt go to dealer and buy it i bought from some1 who buys from dealer so i do not have sales slips i paid cash for it,,, and person is refusing to takecare of it,,,,so im stuck,,,
viewsat forum says for return or repair to give them information of date of purchase and company name which i dont have, even if i can there are few post here people said they sent it over 3 weeks a go and no one is even replien to there phone calls now viewsat US Repair / Warranty issues

i tired i talked to them but RMA isnt the only thing you will get forum states that they will chanrge for the repair if the 3rd party softw was used meaning even if its repairable they will charge for it for real xtreme units i hope it was a easy way to fix it, i only uised mine for 3 days since i bought almost 3 weeks a go.. hope some one has answer to these question soon,,,,,
as for answer to those who saying you saved a lot so dont complain about you waisted lil money ,,, well guys not every1 can Afford dishnet year around if they can they do pay for it,,, second these units arent cheap either ,,, yes to those who been around for long time they pay a lil since they know what to buy and where to buy from,,, and not to mention it takes a lot of effort to hock them up and things like that if some1 comes along and says hey dude i will charge you lil extra and hock it all up for you people say hey i rather pay few $$$ more then kill my self over how to ,,,,, and when things like this happen you cant find that guy who did it for you even if its a real unit i know mine is rest of the people well half are clone but im sure not evey has a fake unit since on this site we have such a great help everything is in forum with pictures you have to be stupid to by fake knowing its fake
